About the Piece

Painted chalk, spray chalk, motorcycle cones, practice motorcycle, photograph, drawings and riding gear.

The installation consists of several works that relate and expand from the earlier performance held at Griffith Park. During the course of the exhibition, I would ride my motorcycle from my house in East Los Angeles to Santa Monica at-least three times a week as part of the process of learning to ride. The exhibition space became a place of prolonged learning as the performance (projected on the wall) as well as the works became tools for both learning skills, managing fear, and imagining the trip to come.
